Dilip Joshi told that he met Narendra Modi in 2011 during a book launch. The actor told that even during that time, PM Modi was only the CM of Gujarat but he recognized Dilip Joshi as ‘Jethalal of Taarak Mehta’.

‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, on whom this serial is made, had written a book. Which was released in Ahmedabad. The then Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi was going to attend this program as the chief guest.
Dilip further told that a 40 minute play like Taarak Mehta was made. On which we were going to perform a live performance. Narendra Modi was going to attend this program only for a few minutes. During this, Narendra Modi himself went to everyone and met everyone one by one.
The actor told that in 2011, he met Narendra Modi again in Ahmedabad after two years. When he was doing ‘Sadbhavna Mission’. At the same time, we were meeting the then CM Narendra Modi one by one on the stage. In those days I had lost a little weight. As soon as I went to meet him on the stage, he looked at me and said, ‘Jethalal, vajan ochhu karyu che..’
