Now Superintendent of Police Dr. Kumar Ashish has suspended him on the charges of indiscipline, dereliction of duty and tarnishing the image of the police on the basis of the report and recommendation of the Internal Complaint Committee.

The case pertains to Amanour police station, where police sub-inspector cum police station chief Mohammad Zafaruddin has been suspended with immediate effect on charges of indiscipline and dereliction of duty along with coercing a female constable posted in his own police station. In this regard, SP Dr Kumar Ashish says that the female constable had personally met him in his office and lodged the complaint. According to the complaint made, the victim woman constable has said that she was forced and molested by Amnaur police station incharge Mahamad Zafaruddin on October 19. After this, taking immediate action, the Superintendent of Police, on the basis of the departmental complaint, sent it to the Internal Complaints Committee for investigation, where the committee investigated the matter on the basis of CCTV footage and other evidence. On the basis of the investigation report and recommendation of the committee, the police station chief of Amanur police station has been suspended. Also, clarification has been demanded against the departmental action.

In this regard, Superintendent of Police Dr. Kumar Ashish while issuing a press statement said that on the basis of the report and recommendation of the Internal Complaint Committee, Police Sub Inspector cum SHO of Amanour Police Station Mohammad Zafaruddin has been immediately booked on charges of indiscipline, dereliction of duty and tarnishing the image of the police. The line has been spotted while effectively suspending. Also, clarification has been demanded against the departmental action. After his suspension, Trainee Police Sub Inspector Jayant Kumar Singh has been given immediate charge of Amanour police station.
