A case has been registered against the motorcycle riding youth and his father. The police is investigating the matter
According to South-East District Police officers, Jamia Nagar Police Station Head Inspector Narpal Singh, when he was patrolling with his team at 8.45 pm on October 26, saw at Batla House that a Bullet motorcycle going from Kabristan Chowk towards Zakir Nagar Market was speeding. Was making noise. Inspector Narpal Singh asked the policemen to stop the bike driver for investigation. Investigation revealed that the silencer in the motorcycle was illegally modified, causing noise beyond the permissible limits and thus violating the Motor Vehicles Act.
After this, policemen started legal action against motorcycle rider Asif (24), son of Riyajudding. The young man called his father on the spot. The father and son forcefully tried to snatch the motorcycle from the policemen. On not leaving the motorcycle, the accused threatened the police and said that just calm the matter down here and let it go, otherwise everything will not be fine.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravi Kumar Singh said that when Police Station Head Narpal Singh arrived to stop the father and son and asked them not to misbehave with the policemen, they started scuffling with them. Asif’s father caught hold of the SHO and Asif punched him near his eye, causing injuries. The accused also beat up constable Ramkesh and injured him too. Other staff present at the spot caught both the accused and took them to the police station. The police station chief and the constable were admitted to Holy Family Hospital for treatment.
On the statement of the policemen, a case has been registered against the accused Asif and his father under the section of preventing a government servant from performing government duty and physically assaulting the police station incharge and other police officers on duty.
