making gooseberry pickle Method (How To Make Amla Pickle),
Material:
Amla – 500 grams
Mustard oil- 100 ml
Salt- 2 to 3 teaspoons (as per taste)
Turmeric powder- 1 teaspoon
Kashmiri red chilli powder – 2 to 3 teaspoons (as per taste)
Chironji- 2 teaspoons (for aroma)
Vinegar- 2 to 3 teaspoons (if you like sour)
Method to make Amla pickle:
First of all, wash the gooseberries thoroughly with water and wipe them dry with a cloth. Now cut these gooseberries into four parts or cut them in half.
Add salt, turmeric powder and Kashmiri red chilli powder to the chopped gooseberries and mix them well. When all the gooseberries are coated with spices, keep it for a few hours. In this way water will be removed from the gooseberries after coming in contact with the salt.
Now add mustard oil in a pan and heat it on medium flame. When the oil becomes hot, turn off the gas and let it cool down a bit. Now pour this oil into the gooseberries and mix well. If you can also add chironji in it at this time. Your pickle is ready.
Fill it in a clean and dry glass jar and close it tightly and keep it in the sun. Stir it daily so that the spices mix well. After 5 to 7 days this Amla pickle will be ready to eat.
