Five children drowned while bathing in Son river in Bhojpur. With the help of villagers, two children were saved, while two children died. The search for a child is going on. The incident took place in Andhari village of Chauri police station area. The deceased have been identified as Chhaya Kumari (9), daughter of Santosh Soni, and Priya Kumari (13), daughter of Suraj Soni, resident of Imadpur.
Everyone is busy trying to save one
Regarding the incident, family members told that the families of his brother-in-law Suraj Soni and Ravindra Soni, residents of Imadpur, had come to Andhari to celebrate Chhath festival at the house of Santosh Soni, son of Andhari resident Baban Soni, while on Thursday around 11 o’clock Gudiya, daughter of Santosh Soni, Kumari (13), Tanu Kumari (10), Chhaya Kumari (9), Priya Kumari (13), daughter of Suraj Soni, resident of Imadpur, Nishi Kumari and Golu Kumar (10), son of Ravindra Soni, had gone to take bath in the Son river. Golu Kumar started drowning while taking bath. Seeing Golu drowning, Priya Kumari went to save him, but while saving Golu, Priya also started drowning. Seeing Priya drowning, Chhaya, Tanu and Gudiya Kumari started trying to save both of them. But now the situation became such that to save one, the other and then one by one all started drowning. Seeing the five children drowning, the people taking bath nearby jumped towards the strong current of water.
Chhaya and Priya died, search for Golu continues
Local villagers took out Gudiya, Tanu, Chhaya and Priya, in which Chhaya and Priya died while the condition of Gudiya and Tanu became critical. Golu could not be found anywhere, the search for him is going on. After getting information about the incident, ASP KK Singh, Chauri police station incharge Vivek Kumar, Circle Officer Rakesh Sharma, Sahar police station incharge Deepak Kumar, Zilla Parishad Laxman Singh, chief representative Vijay Singh, MLA candidate Rajendra Pathak, RJD leader Vakil Kumar, former chief Chamkila Paswan arrived at the spot. Hundreds of villagers reached Son river during the search for dead bodies. After the incident, a situation of chaos has arisen in the family.
