Nag is not a snake, in fact this creature takes revenge from humans, remembers the injury for 17 years

Can any animal remember a human being and his troubles for a long time? Many people in India might take the name of Nag Nagin to answer this question. At least it is said so in Indian legends, but today people know a lot about snakes and also understand that this does not happen to them. But in new research, scientists have found that this happens with crows. They can remember a person and the troubles caused to him not for 5-10 years but for 17 years.

We consider it an intelligent bird.
Yes, if new research is to be believed then the crow, considered the most intelligent in the world, does this. This unique research has revealed that crows harbor the feeling of revenge for 17 years. This discovery is a great example of the amazing ability of crows to remember. The study sheds significant light on how information about threats is shared socially among bird communities.

How was the experiment conducted?
This research project was led by experts from Washington University and was started in 2006. This study was started by environmental scientist Professor John Marzluff. For this, he had caught 7 crows wearing some scary masks and before releasing them, he had put rings on their feet so that they could be identified later.

Many crows took revenge
In later years, the professor and his colleagues would wear the same masks and feed the local crows while roaming around the university campus. Marzluff recalled an incident when he was wearing a mask when 47 of the 53 crows he encountered harassed him badly. Among them were the seven crows that were caught.

The number increased and then started decreasing
The surprising thing was that there were more crows troubling us. This shows that these birds can recognize humans who put them in danger and can also convey this information to their companions. A strange thing happened when the number of people harassing people increased significantly in 2013 and since then there has been a decline in it.

use of masks
By September 2023, 17 years after the experiment began, not a single pesky crow had been heard on Marzluff’s masked walk. Another interesting aspect of the study was the use of a “neutral” mask that looked like Dick Cheney. Cheney was the Vice President of America at that time.

Did changing the person behind the mask make a difference?,
People wearing Cheney masks fed the crows without any trouble, and later escaped the wrath of the birds. As the research progressed, unwitting volunteers were forced to wear masks, unaware of the crows’ “dangerous” or “neutral” classification. One such volunteer found himself at the center of a cacophony of birds, which confirmed the crows’ skill in recognizing and remembering threats.

crows are very capable
Incidents of crows attacking at many places and times in the world have been mentioned. Crows always amaze with their incredible intelligence. It is not limited to just recognizing threats and holding grudges. Previous research indicates that crows have the talent for making tools and even counting. The results of the study clearly show that crows harbor a feeling of revenge for 17 years and can remember and recognize danger.

Not only this, they are capable of giving information about threats to their next generation, due to which the next generation does not need any separate experience in identifying threats.
