It is called Lifeline Express

Why was Lifeline Express started?
In the year 1991, Indian Railways started operating Train Ambulance i.e. Lifeline Express for the first time. Actually, the Government of India had started this train ambulance for this reason. So that the poor people living in remote areas of the country cannot go to big cities for treatment. Treatment can be delivered to them at their homes. The government had started this train especially to provide higher medical facilities to those who are physically capable.

What are the facilities in the train?
Lifeline Express of Indian Railways provides medical facilities to remote areas. So Lifeline Express provides medical facilities even in train accidents. In a way, it can be called a mobile hospital. Lifeline Express reaches where doctors and medicines cannot reach.
It has been designed exactly like a hospital. It has a bed for the patient. It has modern machines and operation theatre. And there is a dedicated medical staff. There is a power generator in every coach of this train. Along with this there is a medical ward. So the same facility of pantry car is also inside the train.
