Namami Gange awakens the spirit of cleanliness on Mauni Amavasya

Members of Namami Gange and jawans of 137 CETF Battalion (Territorial Army) 39 Gorkha Rifle Ganga Task Force gave the message of cleanliness to the crowd of thousands gathered for Ganga bath on Mauni Amavasya festival. At Dashashwamedh Ghat, Sheetla Ghat, Prayag Ghat, Rajendra Prasad Ghat and Ahilyabai Ghat, people became aware of cleanliness along with cleanliness. The members of the Namami Gange team cleaned the garlands, polythene and other materials lying on the banks of the Ganges at these ghats and took them to the dustbin. During this, appealed to the loudspeaker to imbibe the call of cleanliness. Aarti of Maa Ganga was performed. The members took the placards with the slogan of cleanliness in their hands and told the bathers about “cleanliness is health and dirt is disease”. Coordinator of Namami Gange Kashi region, Rajesh Shukla told that by making Kashi and Ganga clean, we should give the gift of cleanliness to our future generations. If the people of Kashi show their responsibility and sensitivity towards Ganga, then no one can stop Ganga from becoming uninterrupted and pure. The youth of Banaras can play an effective role in this campaign. Common people will also have to ensure their participation along with the government. Coordinator of Namami Gange Kashi region Rajesh Shukla, Lieutenant Colonel Hemant Gambhir, Subedar Shivendra Singh Ganga Task Force Team, Namami Gange Metropolitan Co-Convenor Bina Gupta, Pooja Maurya, Sushma Jaiswal, Vishal Sharma etc were present in the awareness event.
