Delhi: Eyes Of More Than Five Lakh People Will Be Examined In Netrakumbh-2025 – Amar Ujala Hindi News Live

Netrakumbh-2025 will be organized in the Mahakumbh to be organized from 12 January to 26 February in Prayagraj. In this, a target has been set to check the eyes of more than five lakh people. To give this information, a meeting was organized at Dr. Ambedkar International Center on Tuesday. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s co-secretary Dr. Krishna Gopal and other dignitaries were present in this meeting.

Regarding the event, Chief Medical Officer of Netrakumbh, Dr. Praveen Kumar Reddy said that the eyes of more than five lakh people coming during the Kumbh will be examined. This facility will be made available to those who need testing. In this the elderly will get priority. After the investigation, more than three lakh spectacles will be distributed and about 50 thousand eye surgeries will be done. He said that people will be selected for surgery after examination. All these facilities will be provided completely free of cost. He said that disability can be prevented by timely treatment of eye problems.

As part of this effort, this event is being organized in collaboration with Saksham (Samdrishti Capability Development and Research Board) on the occasion of Maha Kumbh. To make this event a success, more than 500 leading doctors and more than one thousand optometrists from across the country will provide their services. Apart from this, heads of medical institutions, NGO representatives, and philanthropic associates will also provide their services to help the people. He said that there is an urgent need for eye health care in India. More than 1.25 crore people here are visually handicapped. More than 50 crore people need immediate vision correction.

The objective of Netrakumbh-2025 is to provide free eye tests, necessary treatment, and vision resources to those in need. Dr. Krishna Gopal said that we are hoping that a record will be made in this event. This is the biggest event of its kind in the world, where public welfare work will take place on such a large scale.
