Disadvantages of eating turmeric containing lead
According to experts, lead is a metal which acts like calcium in the body and gets deposited in the bones. Consuming excessive amounts of lead can have serious effects on kidneys, heart and brain. Not only this, it can also increase the risk of heart attack, kidney failure and stroke. If turmeric containing lead is used in large quantities, it can hinder brain development in children and cause fatigue, high blood pressure and digestive problems in adults.
what kind of turmeric to choose
If you want to protect yourself from turmeric containing lead, then experts believe that you should use organic turmeric or grind turmeric and use it at home. This reduces the risk of adulteration; keep in mind the packaging standards of FSSAI in turmeric purchased from the market.
