There is good news for the farmers doing horticulture in Rajasthan. Now whether the crop is damaged due to bad weather or natural disaster, all these losses will be compensated by insurance. Because now horticulture crops will also be insured.
Rajasthan government has also included horticulture crops in the insurance scheme. Farmers can apply for insurance of their horticulture crops in Rabi season till 31 December 2024. The government has taken this decision keeping in mind the interest of the farmers.
You can get insurance for these crops
On behalf of Rajasthan Horticulture Department, horticulture crops of guava, mango, brinjal, cauliflower, garlic and tomato have also been included in crop insurance in the Rabi season in the district. Which can be insured by Agriculture Insurance Company of India Limited till 31st December. Farmers can also apply online for this.
Five percent premium will be taken from farmers
The tomato crop of the district has been notified under the reorganized weather-based crop insurance scheme for the year 2024 Rabi season. For insurance of horticultural crops, only five percent premium of the insured amount will be paid by the farmer. The farmer will get direct benefit from this.
This crop has such a premium
The farmer will have to pay Rs 76,117 per hectare as the insured amount for the tomato crop. The maximum premium rate to be paid is Rs 3,806 (5%). The insured amount for brinjal crop will be Rs 90,000 per hectare by the farmer. While the maximum premium rate payable by the farmer is Rs 4,500 (5%), the sum insured per hectare for cauliflower crop is Rs 1,20,000, the maximum premium rate payable by the farmer is Rs 6,000 (5%), the sum insured per hectare for guava crop is Rs 64,468, 3223 ( 5%), Sum Assured per hectare for Mango crop is Rs 1,12,000, maximum premium rate payable by the farmer 5,600 (5%), the sum insured for garlic crop is Rs 1,20,709 per hectare, the maximum premium rate payable by the farmer will be Rs 6,035 (4%).
These documents will be required
Insurance of these crops can be done by visiting the nearest bank cooperative society or e-Mitra center along with photo copy of latest Jamabandi, Aadhar card, copy of bank passbook. These farmers can take advantage
Under the reorganized weather-based crop insurance scheme, all the farmers growing notified crops in the district will get the benefit. The insurance scheme will provide protection to notified crops against losses caused by low and high rainfall, duration of consecutive dry days, humidity, low and high temperatures, unseasonal rainfall and heavy rainfall etc. Crop insurance is weather based. Premium will also have to be paid on that basis.
