Notice has been issued to DM Durga Shakti Nagpal and former DM Mahendra Bahadur Singh for negligence in the land measurement case of Lakhimpur Kheri district. The appointment department has called for the reply. Asked why the matter was not looked into during the review?

The Appointment Department has given notice to DM Durga Shakti Nagpal and former DM Mahendra Bahadur Singh in the land measurement case in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. The state government has sought clarification from both the officers regarding supervisory laxity and negligence. Earlier, one IAS and three PCS officers have been booked in this case.
In Lakhimpur Kheri, land measurement was kept pending for six years. The matter reached CM Yogi Adityanath. He started investigating the bribe demanding case. Also, instructions have been given to take strict action against the culprits. The appointment department had asked for a complete report on this basis. Four officers (one IAS and three PCS) found prima facie guilty were suspended on Wednesday.
