This time the equations have changed in the Jat dominated Khair seat in the by-election. BJP is facing competition from Charu Kane, who was the BSP candidate in 2022 and is contesting from SP this time. SP was established in 1992 and after 32 years, for the first time, SP is in direct contest on the Khair seat.
BSP, which has won once in the last five elections and finished second four times, seems to be struggling to become the third angle in the direct contest between SP and BJP.
The disunity among Dalits has created difficulties for him. To retain control here, it is a test for BJP and candidate Surendra Diler to maintain their political legacy. The biggest challenge in this is coming from the factionalism of our own people.
Khair assembly constituency, bordering Palwal in Haryana and Gautam Buddha Nagar and Mathura districts in UP, is the area where the future new Aligarh is being developed. The defense corridor is being built here.
