Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan Chowk will now be named ‘Birsa Munda Chowk’. Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the statue of Lord Birsa Munda in Delhi on the occasion of ‘Tribal Pride Day’. Delhi LG VK Saxena, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar were also present on this occasion.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on this occasion that Lord Birsa Munda was born in a small village. Today is his 150th birth anniversary. This year will be celebrated as Tribal Pride Day.
Further said that Lord Birsa Munda was definitely one of the great heroes of independence. While pursuing secondary education in 1875, he had raised his voice against religious conversion. When the entire country and 2/3 of the world was ruled by the British. At that time he had shown courage to stand against conversion.
