PM Modi Nigeria Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Currently on tour in Nigeria. After reaching the African country, PM Modi addressed the people of the Indian community and invited them to come to Mahakumbh, Kashi and Ayodhya in India. He said that this is my first visit to Nigeria as Prime Minister, but I have not come alone. I have brought with me the fragrance of the soil of India and the best wishes from crores of Indians.
The PM said, “The chest of every Indian becomes proud at your progress. Mine is 56 inches wide. The kind of welcome I have received here has been amazing and not long ago I was honored with the Nigerian National Award. This is not just the honor of Modi, this is the honor of crores of people of India. This honor belongs to all of you. Belong to the Indians living here. “I very humbly dedicate this honor to all of you.”
‘Hearing the praise of Indians, my head became proud’
The PM said, “My head was filled with pride after hearing the repeated praise of your (people of Indian origin) contribution to the progress of Nigeria, just as if a member of the family reaches very high, then his parents and relatives feel proud.” As it happens, I also felt proud. You have also given your heart to Nigeria. Nigerians are people of 40-60 years of age, they must have been taught by some Indian teacher. There are Indian doctors here who are serving the citizens here. “Even before independence, when Kishanchand Chellaram ji came here, no one knew that his company would become one of the biggest business houses in Nigeria.”
‘Yoga is becoming increasingly popular among Nigerians’
PM Modi said, “For us the whole world is a family. The pride that you people have brought to Indian culture in Nigeria is visible everywhere. Yoga is becoming increasingly popular among the people here. A weekly program of yoga is shown on the national TV here. Hindi is also becoming very popular here in Nigeria. It is also natural to be friends with Indian films.”
Nigeria Africa’s largest democracy
PM Modi said that Gandhiji stayed in Africa for a long time. During that period of slavery, the people of India left no stone unturned. When India became independent, it also inspired the independence of Nigeria. Today India is the Mother of Democracy while Nigeria is the largest democracy in Africa. We both have equality of democracy, equality of diversity and energy of demography. There are people in India and Nigeria who follow different languages and customs.
‘The size of India’s economy doubled in 10 years’
The PM said, “The long period of slavery devastated our economy. After independence, India’s economy crossed the one trillion dollar mark in six decades. We Indians stood firm. In the last decade, India added two trillion dollars to its GDP. The size of India’s economy has doubled in 10 years. Today India is the fifth largest economy in the world and the day is not far when India will become a five trillion dollar economy. When India will become the third largest economy in the world. People who go out of their comfort zone. That’s where we can do something big. Today India and the youth of India are moving ahead with this mindset. Today India is moving forward at a fast pace in new sectors.”
Grand temple of Lord Shri Ram built after 500 years
The Prime Minister said that a grand temple of Lord Shri Ram has been built in Ayodhya after 500 years. All of you should come to India with your families on Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, Mahakumbh and Republic Day. This journey will become a priceless memory of your life.
