Aamir Khan recently appeared on Netflix India’s YouTube channel for a conversation with his daughter Ira Khan and Dr. Vivek Murthy. The actor talked about the misconception spread in India that taking therapy means having ‘mental problems’. According to Aamir, this made people feel that he needed to hide the fact that he was taking therapy.
Aamir expressed his belief about the therapy and revealed that it has been very helpful for him. Aamir said, “Therapy is very helpful. I think she (Ira) pushed me on that path. I would strongly recommend therapy to anyone who feels the need for it. It has been helpful for me, really.” Ira and I have also started joint therapy. We both see a therapist to improve our relationship and work on issues that have persisted over the years.”
Ira also agreed with her father’s viewpoint on therapy. He further said that it is very important to work on developing a strong bond with your parents.
Aamir had expressed regret over being absent from his children’s life.
Whereas in a conversation on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast “Chapter 2”, Aamir Khan expressed his regret over being absent from his children’s life. He had revealed that for this reason he had to take the decision to leave the film industry.
Aamir had told that the pandemic has given him a harsh point of view on his priorities. He revealed that due to focusing more on his career, he could not live the important moments of the lives of his three children – Ira, Junaid and Azad.
What did Aamir say about children?
Recalling the struggles faced by his children during his absence, Aamir expressed deep regret. He had shared, “Ira was struggling with depression at that time, now she is much better.” But then he needed me. Junaid is starting his career. He has lived his life without me. And now perhaps he is taking a big step in his life towards his career. If I am not with him at this moment then what is the point? Azad is now 9 years old. He will become a teenager in the next 3 years. “His childhood will not come back.”
Let us tell you that Ira and Junaid are the children of Aamir Khan and his ex-wife Reena Dutta. Aamir and Ira got divorced in 2002. Aamir has a son, Azad Rao Khan, from his second ex-wife Kiran Rao. Aamir and Kiran had announced their separation in July.
