Due to which Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu were satisfied but Lord Brahma became dissatisfied and spoke ill of Lord Shiva.
Lord Shiva saw that in the presence of all the gods, Brahma was abusing him, which made him very angry. It was from this anger of Lord Shiva that Kaal Bhairav was born. Seeing the Rudra incarnation of Kalbhairav, all the gods got scared and started requesting Shiva to remain calm. But Kalbhairav out of anger cut off one of Brahma’s five faces.
After this, Lord Brahma also apologized to Kaal Bhairav, this fierce incarnation of Lord Shiva, and he calmed down. But Kaal Bhairav had also been accused of the sin of killing Brahma and he had to suffer the punishment for it. Then Lord Shiva suggested him to go on a pilgrimage and Kaal Bhairav set out on a pilgrimage on earth.
Kaal Bhairav started wandering on earth as a beggar for years. Finally, after reaching Shiva’s city Kashi, he spent his last 24 hours. Due to suffering punishment, Kalbhairav is also called Dandapani.
