Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan says that at present 330 million tonnes of food grains are being produced annually and India is making an important contribution to the global food trade. 50 billion dollars are being earned from food grain export.
‘Global Soil Conference 2024’ in the capital Delhi; Addressing the Agriculture Minister said that the government is committed to supporting such initiatives which are long term and also beneficial for agriculture. Addressing the Global Soil Conference 2024, the Union Minister said that the increasing use and dependence on chemical fertilizers, exploitation of natural resources and unstable weather have put pressure on the soil. Soil is facing crisis
Today the soil of India is facing a big health crisis. According to many studies, 30 percent of our soil has been spoiled. The Union Minister told the people present that due to pollution, the level of essential nitro and micro nutrients in the soil is decreasing. Due to lack of organic carbon in the soil, its fertility is decreasing, this will not only affect the production but can also create a livelihood and food crisis for the farmers in the future. In such a situation, it is necessary to consider it seriously. The Agriculture Minister said that the Central Government has started many initiatives for this.
