There are many areas across Aligarh city where there is no Hindu population, but there are ancient temples, dharamshalas and wells. Due to lack of maintenance, these places are on the verge of disrepair. Even the locks of these places have not been opened for many years. Many historical wells are of religious importance, which have been plugged. Organizations like Bajrang Dal, Hindu Yuva Vahini, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Karni Sena, Shiv Sena etc. have become active to preserve these sites. Efforts have also started to preserve the temples found in Sarai Rehman and Sarai Miyan.

There are ancient Hindu religious places in various areas of Aligarh city like Baniya Pada, Manik Chowk, Dehligate, Jaiganj, Sarai Rehman, Nai Basti, Sarai Miyan, Khair Road etc., the list of which has been prepared. Regular worship of Gods and Goddesses at religious places is a priority. For this, arrangements will be made for worshipers there. The temple found in Sarai Rehman was built by the Gihara community and the temple found in Sarai Miyan was built by the Mahor community. In view of this, now the officials of Hindu organization will take cooperation from social organizations for the maintenance and renovation of the temple. For this, a list of social organizations is being prepared.
