A report was lodged against three people, including BJP MLA from Bilsi Harish Shakya and a businessman from Bareilly, at the Civil Lines police station on Saturday on charges of gang rape and land grabbing. 13 other people have also been reported for land grabbing. This action has been taken on the orders of MP-MLA court. The court, while giving its order on December 12, had asked to file the report within 10 days.
Let us tell you that the dispute over possession of 20 bighas of land has been going on for almost two years. The victim alleges that his wife had gone to the MLA to talk to him in this regard. Here the MLA and two other people had raped the wife. The victim, living in Civil Lines area, had given an application in the court saying that the MLA wanted to grab his 20 bighas of land. On September 17, 2024, when the mother and wife reached the MLA’s camp office, the wife was raped. After hearing the case, Judge Leelu Choudhary had ordered to file a report against 16 people including the MLA.
