After the encounter of three terrorists associated with Khalistan Zindabad Force in Pilibhit, their helpers are being searched vigorously in the Terai area. The open areas of the forest area could have been suitable for them to hide. Teams of many agencies including NIA, IB and ATS have camped here. Apart from Lucknow-Chandigarh, these teams are sending inputs to the responsible people sitting in Delhi Home Ministry.

Pilibhit encounter has become a subject of investigation not only in UP-Punjab but also by security agencies across the country for national security. This is the reason why police officers from both the states as well as the agencies there have camped in Pilibhit area. Since all the three terrorists traveling together were killed, it is becoming difficult to decide under whose protection or help they were coming to this area after committing the incident in Punjab. Experts say that fundamentalist ideology spreads very fast in the name of caste and religion.
There is a large number of Sikh community present in Pilibhit, who live in huts built in the city as well as in the forest areas. Obviously, terrorists could easily find shelter for a long time in the large fields of agricultural areas, hence the agencies’ first suspicion is on these remote fields only. The team is continuously gathering inputs from here. How big weapons like AK 47 were brought here from Punjab is also being investigated.
