At least seven illegal immigrants were deported from South Delhi. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan said on Saturday that a team caught seven Bangladeshi nationals, including five women, near Arjangarh Metro station in Fatehpur Beri area.

He said raids were conducted in slums, labor camps and unauthorized colonies, which led to the arrest of illegal immigrants. He said those detained have been identified as Mohammad Umar Farooq (33), Riyaz Mian (20) and five women, all from Bangladesh.
During interrogation, he revealed that he had crossed the border illegally and was living in Rajiv Nagar, Gurugram. The DCP said verification of his mobile phone and documents confirmed his Bangladeshi citizenship.
He said that after the required documents were completed, they were handed over to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).
