Angered by the death of 121 devotees during the stampede at Bhole Baba’s satsang, Allahabad High Court has summoned the then DM and SSP of Hathras to the court with a counter affidavit. He has asked why his responsibility should not be fixed for the painful incident and mismanagement in the satsang. Also, the DM and Police Commissioner of Prayagraj have been instructed to make adequate security arrangements in the Mahakumbh, taking a lesson from the Hathras incident.

This order has been given by the court of Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav on the bail application of Manju Devi, accused of misbehavior in the satsang. Said that such incidents often happen when organizers call innocent poor and illiterate people of the village without making proper arrangements for their own benefit. In the race of faith, the crowd loses its temper and people lose their lives in the stampede. But, officials do not learn lessons from such incidents.

The administration is directly responsible for such mismanagement. Before giving permission, they should assure themselves about the security and medical arrangements in the event. But, the officials are adopting a careless attitude in doing so.
