Many big Hollywood actors lost their homes
According to media reports, Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal and Adam Brody are among the celebrities who lost their homes in the deadly wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
Actor James Woods, who starred in films such as Nixon and Casino, tearfully described the destruction at the Pacific Palisades property to CNN. He said, ‘One day you are swimming in the pool and the next day it is all over.’
Whereas Paris Hilton said that she lost her house in Malibu. “Sitting with your family, watching the news, watching your house burn down in Malibu on live TV is something no one should ever have to see,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
He said, “This is a home that holds so many precious memories… My thoughts and prayers are with every family affected by this fire.”
Lakhs of people rendered homeless due to fire
According to media reports, fires are still raging at five places in Los Angeles. More than 137,000 people have fled their homes so far. At least five people have died and many have been injured.
The largest fire in the region is in the Palisades; After that, Eaton’s condition is also very bad. The Sunset, Hearst and Lydia fires are still active. About 2,000 buildings and houses have been destroyed and this number is expected to increase.
The fire has become very difficult to control due to strong winds and dry conditions. According to media reports, a fire chief said that there is ‘zero chance’ of controlling the fire.
President Joe Biden has canceled his trip to Italy to focus on relief and rescue operations. Thousands of displaced people are worried about whether their homes have been saved from the flames.
