You must have seen that at the very bottom, the Prime Minister sits on the right side, while the MPs of the opposition sit on the left side. The seat of all the MPs is fixed and the MPs sit on the basis of their fixed seat. There is a seating arrangement for 545 MPs here. Actually, the number of the special seat is 420. The reason for this special being special is that there is no seat number 420 in this Parliament and something else is written on the seat number 420. No seat number 420?
You must have seen that there are buildings of many floors, but there is no 13th floor in these buildings. By the way, if counted, the floor is of 13th number only, but it is counted as 14th floor. During the seat allotment in the 15th Lok Sabha, Assam United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MP Badruddin Ajmal, who came at number 420, was allotted seat number 419-A instead of number 420.
Why is 420 negative?
Actually, number 420 is a section of the Indian Penal Code. Which is pasted on a person who cheats others, does dishonesty or grabs someone’s property by pretending. The number 420 is associated with the English word Cheating. It is clear from this that the number 420 is associated with deception, dishonesty and deceit. That’s why when someone cheats or cheats, people call him 420.
