Through e-bike, a fun journey to the historical sites of the Archaeological Department can be enjoyed. MCD has teamed up with Yulu Bikes to create an e-bike heritage tour for the public. Starting from Keshavpuram on Saturday, the protected monuments were visited.
The corporation has decided to organize e-bike heritage tour like this in the whole of Delhi. In the first phase, E-Bike Heritage Tour of Old Delhi Jehanabad was started. People are visiting Kashmere Gate, Delhi Gate, Lahori Gate etc. to understand their historical and cultural importance. Also, enjoying the delicious cuisine of Old Delhi. Now the heritage cell of the corporation and Keshavapuram regional office have started its second phase.
Yulu bike parked in the authorized parking of the corporation has been included in the tour. Arrangements have also been made for the people involved in the tour to taste the local cuisine. The tour guides introduce you to the various sites.
The entire journey was of 10 kms: On Saturday, people started the e-bike tour from the Sheeshmahal arrival gate in Haiderpur. It was flagged off by Naveen Agarwal, Deputy Regional Corporation Commissioner, Keshavpuram zone. The entire yatra was of 10 kms, which passed through Garden Highlanders Memorial, Gate of Badli Ki Sarai, Historical Gurdwara Nanak Pyu, Baradari and Tomb of Tripolia and Roshanara Bagh.
Purpose of showing glorious cultural heritage
Regional Deputy Commissioner Naveen Agarwal said that there is a plan to start more such heritage tours. Its main objective is to make the citizens aware of the glorious cultural heritage of Delhi. There are many historical places for tourists to see in Delhi.
