Biggest Exam of India: In terms of the number of students, NEET UG is named as the biggest exam in India. Around 15 to 16 lakh students sit in this exam every year. This number can be less or more. This exam was earlier known as All India Pre Medical Test. Candidates who pass in this get admission in MBBS, BDS, AYUSH i.e. BAMS, BUMS, BHMS etc. courses according to their rank.
NTA conducts
This exam is conducted by the NTA, which reports the results to the Directorate General Health Services, which comes under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the State Counseling Authority. NEET UG is a single exam conducted for admission to MBBS and BDS courses across the country. Talking about registered candidates, this is the biggest exam in India.

- According to media reports, in the year 2022, about 18 lakh candidates had appeared in this examination.
- In the year 2021, more than 14 lakh candidates took part in the examination.
- Similarly, in the year 2020, around 16 lakh candidates and in 2019, 15 lakh candidates had registered.
Which exam is on second-third number
After NEET UG, IIT JEE is considered to be the second largest exam in the country (in terms of number of students) in which around 8 to 9 lakh candidates appear every year. This number goes up and down. But last year the number of total registered candidates in CUET i.e. Common University Entrance Test changed things and CUET replaced JEE.
Last year, a total of 1,14,103 candidates registered for CUET for the first time, thus leaving behind 9 lakh JEE Mains candidates. Not only this, the name of Delhi University was at the top of the university for which the maximum number of applications came. More than one lakh applications came for this. BHU was on the second number and Allahabad University on the third.
