Moradabad: A video in Moradabad, UP is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In the viral video, a fishing cat has been imprisoned by the villagers in a cage. The villagers are making his video viral by calling him a leopard. Forest Department officials confirmed this video and said that it is not a leopard but a fisherman’s cat.
In Moradabad, the fisher cat that entered the chicken farm was caught by the villagers mistaking it for a leopard and locked it in a cage. The fear of leopard spread among the villagers. On information, the deputy ranger of the forest department, who arrived with the team, called him a fishing cat. After this the team took him with them to Deer Park Moradabad. Please inform that Machhan Singh, a resident of Mahdud Kalmi village of Kanth police station area, has a chicken farm in the forest of Kamalpuri village of the area. In which he has reared cock and hen.

Like everyday, last Monday night Machhan Singh’s son was sleeping in the farm. A fisherman cat entered the farm at around 4:30 am on Tuesday. He also caught a hen. When there was a sound, the eyes of the sleeping Machchan’s son opened. When he saw, the hen was lying dead and the cat was about to attack the other hen. Mistaking the cat for a leopard, the young man raised an alarm, on which the people sleeping nearby came running. On information, Machhan and his family members also came. The people laid siege and caught the cat and locked it in a cage.
Information given to the Forest Department
On information, Deputy Ranger Pushpendra Singh of Forest Department reached the spot with the team. After seeing the caged cat, he told that it is not a leopard. This is the fisherman cat. After this the team took the cat in its possession. Deputy Ranger Pushpendra Singh told that the fisherman cat has been released in the park of Moradabad.
