The name of this special variety of mango is Hapus, which is also known as Alphonso. It is considered to be the best variety of mango. It is produced in Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and surrounding areas of Maharashtra.

Hapus mangoes are famous for their sweetness, taste, excellent aroma, and it is also said that Hapus mangoes do not spoil if kept for a week after fully ripening. At present, it is getting 1500 to 2000 rupees per dozen on Income Tax Golambar. It is currently available only at select stores.
