5G technology in flights: Passengers are often asked to switch off their mobile phones or keep them in Flight/Airplane Mode before starting the flight journey. But now in the coming few days you will not be asked to do so because it will be possible that passengers will be able to use their mobile phones during air travel. For the past several years, there was a lot of discussion about internet access in flights, about which it will be possible from next year when passengers traveling by air will be able to access 5G internet at super fast speed. Let us know this news in detail.
5G technology allowed in flights
According to the news, the European Union has given permission to install 5G technology in flights, under which now the airlines companies of Associated States will be able to install 5G equipments in their aircraft. After doing this, air passengers will be able to connect their mobile phones to the internet even in flights. The European Union has laid great emphasis on this facility, for which a deadline of 30 June 2023 has also been kept next year. During this, airlines operators will have to install 5G equipment in their aircraft to connect passengers to the Internet.
In 2008, the European Union reserved some frequency bands for aircraft. Permission was given for some services and internet access from these frequency bands. At present, passengers used to get slow internet for this service and had to spend more money. This is the reason that passengers used to put their mobile phones in airplane mode. Now there is talk of upgrading the service and the European Union has passed new rules in which the member states of the European Union have been given a deadline of June 30, 2023 to make 5G frequency bands available in the plane.
