Nagaur. Nagaur Electricity Department is continuously taking action against illegal electricity connections and those who do not pay electricity bills. In Nagaur district, 265 crores of electricity department is outstanding in the entire district. Action is being taken by the teams of the Electricity Department to complete this revenue. The revenue of the Electricity Department is being collected by the Electricity Department in coordination with the consumers.

The government departments of the entire district have an outstanding electricity bill of Rs 35 crore. For which the Electricity Department has given time till March 31 to pay the bill. If the bill is not paid within this time period, action will be taken against them.

Accounts Officer of the Electricity Department, Dinesh Taylor said that if a consumer whose electricity bill is due, pays the electricity bill by March 31, then the charge for late filling in the electricity bill is being waived till March 31. Every consumer will be benefited.

If a consumer is ready to pay the bill, then he is given a relaxation of a few days. If the consumer clears the outstanding bill before March 31, then his connection will not be disconnected. Otherwise action will be taken by the Electricity Department.

Bills of 19839 consumers are outstanding in Nagaur district. Whose total amount is Rs 71 crore 16 lakh outstanding. Late payment charges are being waived off by the Electricity Department for paying their bills. At the same time, the connections of 3121 consumers have been disconnected by the Electricity Department. 7 crore 50 lakh rupees have been recovered by the electricity department from disconnected connections. 99% recovery has been done till February this financial year. But till March 31, the arrears of the entire district will be recovered.

Electricity theft and not depositing bills should not be a burden

Dinesh Taylor told that if a person steals electricity then action will be taken under section 138. Under which the jail sentence will have to be served along with the fine. If a consumer does not pay the electricity bill dues, then action will be taken under section 135. The same VCR will be charged up to 40%.
