Once again the political tussle over electricity subsidy has intensified. The Delhi government has accused the Lieutenant Governor and the BJP of ending the electricity subsidy. Said that efforts are being made to stop free electricity under the conspiracy. However, the government clearly said that the Delhi government’s free electricity scheme will not stop.
Targeting the Lieutenant Governor and the BJP, Energy Minister Atishi said that a file has come from the Electricity Department, in which there is a proposal to stop the free electricity available in the chamber of farmers and lawyers. Atishi asked that when the elected government did not make any such proposal then where did it come from. Who has given such orders? Atishi said that officials of the electricity department told me that such a proposal has been prepared due to pressure from the lieutenant governor and BJP leaders.
Farmers do not get free electricity: Bidhuri
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ramveer Singh Bidhuri said that the allegation of Power Minister Atishi is baseless. Farmers do not get the facility of free electricity in the capital, otherwise the question of shutting it down under the pressure of the Lieutenant Governor does not arise. Atishi has just become a new minister and she did not even do her homework that there is no scheme of free electricity for farmers in Delhi. Kejriwal’s step-motherly treatment towards the farmers is well known. Bureau
Atishi’s claim is wrong: Sachdeva
State BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has denied the claim of Electricity Minister Atishi, in which he has said that pressure is being created to stop the free electricity of farmers and lawyers. The truth is that the Lieutenant Governor’s office did not give any such suggestion to the officials. The truth is that the Delhi government does not give even a single unit of electricity to the farmers free of cost, rather it charges the poor farmers a load charge of 10 to 20 KW per tubewell.
