IRCTC advisory: IRCTC has issued a public advisory, warning people not to download a suspicious Android application named ‘irctcconnect.apk’. This app is being sent to users of popular messaging platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram, asking them to download it. Regarding this app, IRCTC has given a stern warning that users should not download it. This app is Harmful. It can capture your phone when installed in the phone. Your personal information can reach hackers.

Now cyber thugs are scamming by posing as IRCTC people

IRCTC says that cyber thugs behind the app claim to be from IRCTC. Posing as IRCTC officials, they trap you to access your personal information, such as your UPI details and other important credit/debit card banking details. That’s why it is important to avoid downloading this app and be careful with any similar suspicious app.

Fraudsters are sending a phishing link to people on a large scale. These thugs are impersonating as IRCTC officials to get them to click on the phishing link. You should know that phishing links are so dangerous, just by clicking on them, all your details can be in the hands of cyber thieves. IRCTC has advised users not to install this application and protect themselves from such fraudsters. Always download IRCTC’s official ‘IRCTC Rail Connect’ mobile app from Google Play Store or Apple Store.

Note: IRCTC never asks its customers for their PIN, OTP, password, credit/debit card details, net banking password or UPI details.
