A fire broke out on Sunday in the Vaibhargiri mountain forest located in Rajgir, Nalanda, Bihar. In no time, this fire engulfed the hilly areas of the four kilometer area. The fire is still burning on the mountain tops. More than 500 personnel have been deployed to extinguish it. Apart from Nalanda, fire brigade teams from Nawada, Gaya and Patna have been called to douse the blaze. Those who are constantly trying hard to overcome it. At present, 36 fire tenders have been deployed on the spot. But due to the mountains, this is also proving to be insufficient.

District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar told that there was fire at a total of five places of Vaibhargiri mountain. Four of them have been brought under control. But the work of extinguishing the fire is still being done at one place. A total of 500 personnel have been employed in this. who are working in shifts. Forest department, corporation personnel and fire brigade personnel have been engaged in this work. Along with this, DFO of Forest Department, SDO of Rajgir and senior officers of Fire Department have been directed to monitor it.

The fire that broke out on Sunday was brought under control on Monday. But in the evening, suddenly again the fire broke out on the mountains. Due to the scorching heat and westerly wind, the personnel are facing a lot of difficulties in controlling the fire. Fire engines are not reaching the height. In such a situation, the personnel with poles and other materials in their hands are trying to control the fire.

On Monday, Sobha Ahotkar, DG of Fire Department reached Rajgir and took stock of the situation. Along with this, it was also said to sit with the district administration and make further strategy so that such incidents can be curbed.
