Rajgarh: The Madhya Pradesh government may be making claims of providing pure water through taps in every village and city, but the ground reality is something else. People are not getting even a single drop of water through taps, due to which they have to wander for water. Sometimes they are forced to live their lives by bringing water from tubewells or wells.

People are worried about water in Bijasan Mata Mandir Gali and Harijan Mohalla of ward number-4. People’s representative and city council have no attention towards this ward. Dozens of women and men including Sitabai, Mamta Bai, Bholi Bai, Ramkanya Bai, Avanti Bai living in the ward told that there are tap connections in the houses for about 10-15 years, but till now not even a drop of water has come in them. While we are also paying the tap bill in the Municipal Council office from time to time. These people applied hundreds of times to the public representatives and city council officials, but the situation did not improve.

If water does not come, we will protest
Ward residents say that where the Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated by the government celebrating the 75th anniversary of independence. On the other hand, the residents of the ward are still forced to survive by bringing water on their heads. Big people’s representatives only make promises, but no one has taken initiative to end the problem. If the people’s representatives and officials do not fix the problem of water in our taps within 7 days, then we will protest in front of the city council office.

Even the councilor is not being heard
On the other hand, Municipal Council President Representative Ramkaran Malakar says that after forming our council, the pipeline which was lying closed for many years has started work and the obstacles have been removed. It is our effort that we will start it soon, while Councilor Sumitra Bai Verma says that the people living near Harijan Mohalla and Bijasan Mata Mandir are not getting water in their taps for the last 8 years. I also went to the city council and applied several times, but no hearing took place.
