Complaint Against Nawazuddin Siddiqui : Among the talented actors of Bollywood, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been in headlines for a long time. He is having a dispute with his estranged wife. In the midst of all this, a lawyer from Kolkata has now accused the actor and the CEO of Coca-Cola of allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Bengali community. A police complaint has also been lodged against Nawaz in this matter.
A lawyer filed a complaint against Nawaz
According to Livemint’s report, Dibyan Banerjee, a Calcutta High Court lawyer, has filed a complaint against the actor. According to the report, the lawyer has said in his complaint, “The main advertisement by Coca-Cola for its product Sprite was in Hindi and we have no problem with it. The only problem we have is with the Bengali dubbing of the advertisement which is running on various TV channels and websites.

Charged with hurting the sentiments of a community
The complaint further states, “Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is laughing at a joke that says, ‘Shoja angule ghee na uthle, Bengali khali pete ghoomiye pore.’ In English, it means that Bengalis go to bed hungry if they don’t get something easily, and we feel that it hurts the sentiments of the Bengali community.”
Company issued an apology
Let us tell you that in this 20-second television ad, Nawazuddin was shown standing at the railway station laughing at a joke made on a Sprite bottle. However, the report states that the joke was literally, “If they can’t extract ghee with a straight finger, Bengalis go to bed hungry.” According to the report, the company has removed the Bengali version of the advertisement and issued an apology. Has said that he ‘regrets the recent advertisement campaign of cold drink and the company respects the Bengali language’
