This is the reason why Apple’s products are always in high demand. There is also a problem with iPhone and Apple gadgets that thieves keep a close watch on them. There is a greed in their mind to make quick money by stealing them and selling them in the black market. Recently such a case has come to light, when a delivery boy cleaned 10 iPhones from the parcel and replaced them with duplicate iPhones.

Where did this feat happen?

The case is of Gurugram, where a delivery man stole 10 iPhones on the way and exchanged the original iPhone with a duplicate iPhone. According to the report, a delivery executive of an e-commerce firm in Gurugram stole 10 iPhones and replaced them with duplicate iPhones on the way before they could be delivered to the customer. Later Ravi of Matrix Finance Solution lodged a complaint with the SHO.

What was the whole matter

In his complaint, Ravi alleged that on March 27, a delivery executive named Lalit was given a parcel containing 10 iPhones and Airpods to be delivered to a customer. Instead of delivering the parcel, Lalit replaced the iPhone with a duplicate and, claiming that the customer could not be contacted, asked his brother Manoj to return them to the company. After receiving the parcel back, the delivery company suspected some tampering with the packaging. When he opened the package for investigation, he was shocked. Because, there were fake phones inside.

Accused Lalit is absconding

Later a case was registered against Lalit at Bilaspur police station under sections 420 (cheating), 408 (criminal breach of trust by an employee) of the Indian Penal Code. Police is probing the matter and efforts are on to nab the absconding accused.

Counterfeit iPhones and iPhone theft have become common, but interestingly, thieves no longer usually target banks and jewelry stores for money or valuables. Rather, they target Apple’s devices. Because these gadgets have become as valuable as gold and are in high demand in the black market.
