Christopher Ray said this during the meeting of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Thursday. He said that we are fighting against a country which has become a problem for the whole world. If FBI cyber agents and intel analysts focus exclusively on Chinese activities, Chinese hackers are still at least 50 to 1 FBI cyber personnel. At the meeting, he sought $63 million for the FBI to add 192 people to its cyber staff and strengthen the fight against China.

Hackers had hacked the data of 30 thousand organizations including government and private companies with the help of Microsoft Exchange Server email software. Christopher Wray told a congressional panel that China has stolen more US personal and corporate data than any other country, and that the FBI is currently investigating more than 100 ransomware variants. Apart from America, China has also become a problem for Russia, Iran and North Korea.
