- This petition has returned from the Supreme Court for the second time. For the first time, the Supreme Court dismissed it as a matter within the state. The petitioners came to the High Court. Date-by-date, when the date after April 30 was given, then the petitioners again went to the Supreme Court that the date given after the completion of Bihar Caste Census would have no meaning. The Supreme Court, while not commenting on the merits of the petition, said that appeal for early hearing in the High Court, the hearing will be held within three days. Earlier the date was May 04, now the hearing is being held on May 01.
Possibility
- The High Court can order to stop or not to stop the caste based census. In either case, the doors of the Supreme Court will remain open. The petitioners had not earlier approached the Supreme Court through the High Court, so the case was returned. Now, if the High Court rejects the appeal of the petitioners to ban caste-based census, then this side will have the option of going to the Supreme Court. Similarly, if there is a decision against the government, then it can also go to the Supreme Court.
