Why Do Ants Sometimes Go Around In A Circle This Is The Reason Behind This

Ants Moving In Circle: Every born living being is sure to die. Humans, big and ferocious animals, insects and all are sure to die. Normally living beings die due to some disease or old age. But man is often responsible for his own death. Like humans, many creatures invite their own death and one of them is the ant. Ants often do something or the other that leads to their death. Ants themselves make a circle and get trapped in it and die. You must have seen hundreds of ants moving in a circle one after the other, and in the middle of this circle there is a pile of dead ants, yet the ants are moving around. Do you know the reason behind ants moving in circles?

The reason for creating the ‘circle of death’

This circle of ants is called ‘circle of death of ants’. When these ants are seen roaming in the circle of death, then understand that the time has come for their death. According to National Geographic, a group consisting of 150 species of ants is formed which is called Army Ant. These ants go hunting in the forest like an army and make very small creatures their prey. Together, these ants hunt even large animals, but there is a huge drawback inside these ants. These ants are blind, so they move forward only on each other’s trust. Actually, such hormones come out from inside these ants which have a special smell. Recognizing the same smell, these ants move forward chasing each other.

Why do ants die while roaming in a circle?

Often the ant moving ahead goes astray and starts following a different smell and the one behind it also starts following the same one. When these ants come in the Chaal Chakra, then the ants start roaming in that cycle chasing each other’s smell. While chasing each other, many more ants become a part of this cycle, due to which this cycle becomes very big and these ants get tired of roaming around and die. According to the report of the Mental Floss website, a scientist has seen a circle of death of ants in the forest about 1200 feet in size. Ants were taking 2.5 hours to complete that cycle. This cycle went on for two days and many ants also died.
