Apple has recently started the facility of Emergency Satellite Based SOS in Australia and New Zealand. People will get this service only in iPhone 14. While launching the iPhone 14 last year, the company started Emergency Satellite Based SOS in 12 countries, in which now these two countries have also joined.
With the help of this feature, iOS users can reach their loved ones or ask for help in case of emergency. To use this feature, iOS users will have to dial 0 three times or press the power button and the high volume rocker button simultaneously or press and hold the power button five times. If there is no network, people will get a questionnaire on the phone, which they will have to fill and tell their situation. The information fed and the location of the person will go directly to the loved ones after which the person can be reached. iPhone users can also share their location with their loved ones through the Find My app.
Currently, Find My app and Emergency Satellite Based SOS are only available in Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, UK, US, and now New Zealand and Australia. This service is not available in India.
