A BMW car overturned uncontrollably on Sunday midnight in Central Delhi’s Daryaganj area. The car did several stunts one after the other. Fortunately, there was no other vehicle around the car at the time of the accident. The driver’s life was also saved due to the opening of the airbag in the car. Passers-by pulled him out of the car. Later, as soon as the news was received, the police reached the spot.
After investigation, the police removed the car from the road with the help of a crane and took it into custody. After preliminary investigation, the police have come to know that the accident happened due to tire burst. Since the speed of the car was very high, the car overturned as soon as the tire burst. Central District Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Sen said that at around 1.20 am on Sunday, his team received information that a car had overturned behind the Ring Road Rajghat depot. As soon as the information was received, apart from PCR, the police staff of Daryaganj police station reached there. The passersby pulled the driver out of the car even before the police reached the spot.
During interrogation, car driver Ashutosh Goyal told that he lives with his family in Greater Kailash area. On Sunday, he had gone to Tagore Garden to drop off his friend. While returning home from there, the tire of his car burst. The speed of the car was fast. So the car overturned. The car kept rubbing for a long distance. The car later came to a halt after hitting an electric pole. Passengers stopped their vehicles after the accident and took Ashutosh out. He was very scared after the accident. Although he had only minor scratches.
Sources say that due to the opening of the airbag of the car, he did not get hurt. At the same time, it was also a matter of pride that there was no two-wheeler or car around Ashutosh’s car at the time of the accident. Had this happened, the accident could have been bigger.
