The ‘AAP’ government of Delhi under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is providing financial assistance to the dependents of the warriors who lost their lives during Corona. Under this, the government is providing ‘respect money’ of one crore to the families of the warriors who lost their lives during Corona. However, the government says that the lives of corona warriors cannot be put at a price, but this ‘honour amount’ of one crore is just a tribute to the sacrifice made by them.

Government came forward to help Krishnakant Kapil’s family

Cabinet Minister Raj Kumar Anand met the family of Covid warrior Krishnakant Kapil on 15 May. He lost his life while on duty in the fight against Corona. For his service, the Delhi government handed over a check of Rs one crore to his family. Krishan Kant Kapil was a teacher who did duty at the Delhi Government’s Hunger Relief Center at the Government Higher Secondary School in Rithala Zone during the pandemic.

Minister met the relatives of Kovid warriors

Food and Supplies Minister Imran Hussain reached the homes of two Corona warriors on 18 May. He also handed over a check of one crore each to the families of the deceased. They reached Rajni Chauhan’s house in Vikaspuri and Madhu Rana’s house in Basaidarapur. Rajni Chauhan was posted as Nursing Officer at Maternity and Child Health Center and teacher at Madhu Rana Nigam Pratibha Vidyalaya, Basaidarapur.

One crore check handed over to Dr. Prerna Jain’s family

After this, on May 22, Imran Hussain met the family members of late Dr. Prerna Jain. Dr. Jain died while on duty at Mohalla Clinic, Kamla Nagar, Delhi. Local MLA Akhilesh Tripathi, SDM Civil Lines and senior officials of Revenue Department were also present along with the minister. During this, the minister presented an honorarium of Rs one crore to the family members of Dr. Prerna Jain.

Minister reached to meet the relatives of Kovid warrior Ravi Kumar

Then on May 25, Imran Hussain handed over a check of Rs 1 crore to the family of Covid warrior late Ravi Kumar. During this, local MLA and Social Welfare Minister Raj Kumar Anand was also present. They had reached West Patel Nagar, the residence of Ravi Kumar. Ravi Kumar was about 32 years old when he got his first posting as a junior assistant at Acharyashree Bhikshu Government Hospital, Delhi Government. He was performing his duties during the pandemic when he got infected with the virus.

Financial help given to Gayatri Sharma’s family

After this, on the instructions of CM Arvind Kejriwal, Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj met the relatives of late Gayatri Sharma, a resident of Paharganj on May 30 and handed over a check of Rs one crore to them. Gayatri Sharma, working as a nurse at GTB Hospital since 1998, had done duty at Ghazipur Health Center during the pandemic. Meanwhile, while serving the people, she got infected with Corona and lost the battle of life. During this, Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the lives of Corona warriors cannot be put at a price, but this ‘honour amount’ is a tribute to them from the Kejriwal government.
