University Grants Commission has approved new courses in UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Aligarh Muslim University. 24 to 26 training programs and refresher courses in seven to nine subjects have been included for newly appointed teachers associated with higher education.
AMU has been allotted several training, refresher and training programs for the academic session 2023-24. These courses will be on offline, online and hybrid mode. Dr. Faiza Abbasi, Director, UGC HRDC informed that there are seven to nine subject refresher courses covering various subjects including teacher education, teaching and training in Kashmiri language. These include the subjects of Environmental Studies, Chemistry, Oriental Studies (Arabic/Islamic Studies, Persian/Quranic Studies/Theology/Urdu), Disaster Management, ICT and Computer Applications.
Similarly, there will also be eight short term courses on Research, Excellence in Research, Presentation Skills, National Education Policy Implementation, Society and Law, Digital Library Management, Social Actions, Biodiversity Conservation, Computer Based Data Analysis Techniques for Sustainable Development.
Dr. Abbasi said that the concerned assistant professors of universities and colleges are eligible to apply for subject-specific, multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary courses. UGC has allotted interaction programs for the scholars of CAS Department of History and CAS Department of Urdu. For the first time, a four-week training program has been allotted for Assistant Registrar, Assistant Finance Officer, Assistant Controller and Academic Administrators, which will help in enhancing their administrative skills. The course schedule and application guidelines have been uploaded on the website of UGC HRDC. All forms will be accepted online only.
