3 students who went to bathe in Ganga drowned in Patna. One was pulled out safely with the help of people bathing nearby, while two died due to drowning. All were students from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh who used to stay in Patna and prepare for competitive exams. The dead are Mohan Verma (20) and Samar Pratap (22), while Manish Kumar was pulled out of the water safely.

Regarding the incident, the police of Pirbahor police station say that on Thursday morning, 5 students had gone to bathe in the river Ganga near Krishna Ghat under Pirbahor police station. All these students stay in a private guest house in Kadamkuan and prepare for competitive exams. All of them are residents of Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh. Among them Mohan Verma, Samar Pratap and Manish Kumar had gone to bathe in the Ganges with their other friends. While taking a bath, Mohan Verma, Samar Pratap and Manish Kumar suddenly went into deep water and started drowning in the strong current. Seeing all of them drowning, the people already present there jumped into the river Ganga and rescued a young man Manish Kumar from the river Ganga, while Mohan Verma and Samar Pratap drowned in the strong current of water.

SDRF team engaged in search of students

Pirbahor police station in-charge said that the SDRF team was informed about the incident. As soon as the information was received, Inspector Ashok Kumar Yadav of the SDRF team reached the spot with his team and started the operation in search of the missing youths in the river Ganga. At present, the search for the missing students is going on.
