President Draupadi Murmu offers prayers at Jagannath Temple in Hauz Khas, Delhi ahead of Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra 2023. The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory regarding the journey scheduled for this afternoon.

On behalf of Shri Nilanchal Seva Sangh, Delhi, the 45th Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra will start on Tuesday afternoon. The rath yatra will start from Hauz Khas village and pass through Aurobindo Marg. Delhi Traffic Police can change or stop the traffic depending on the circumstances. In such a situation, the police have advised to avoid many routes. On the other hand, the 56th Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra has started at Jagannath Temple, Tyagaraja Nagar.
Due to the yatra, traffic will be affected on both the carriageways of Aurobindo Marg from IIT flyover, Outer Ring Road and AIIMS flyover loop from 2 pm to 6 pm on Tuesday, said Dhiraj Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Traffic Police’s South Range.
In such a situation, the traffic will be run according to the circumstances. Passengers headed towards Railway Stations, Airports, Hospitals etc. are advised to plan their travel departure well in advance. Delhi Traffic Police said that commuters traveling towards New Delhi via Aurobindo Marg from Mehrauli and Gurgaon are advised to take the Outer Ring Road.
People can take Panchsheel flyover to August Kranti Marg and Andrews Ganj to Ring Road or Africa Avenue Road to New Delhi. Commuters coming from New Delhi and going towards Mehrauli and Gurgaon via Aurobindo Marg are advised to follow Ring Road from AIIMS Flyover and take a right turn at Andrews Ganj Flyover, August Kranti Marg so that they can go through Outer Ring Road to reach your destination.
Traffic will be affected on these routes
Balbir Saxena Marg, Chaudhary Dilip Singh Marg, Chaudhary Hukum Chand Marg and Gautam Nagar Road. No parking on main roadways and around the venue. Use metro rail services for smooth travel.
