Guddu, who runs Vijay Sweets, said, ‘The shop was started by my father Vijay about 50 years ago. Gulabjamun and other sweets were made by them only. But the taste that came in Gulab Jamun from his hand did not come in any other sweet. Since then, the sale of Gulab Jamun is high. Now he has become old, so my brother and I are running this shop together. Many artisans are still associated with father’s time.
More than 1 thousand pieces are sold every day
The shopkeeper further said, ‘By 3 o’clock in the day, the stock of Gulabjamun is ready with us. The customers who start coming from that time, it goes on continuously till 11 o’clock in the night. The sale of other sweets and samosas in the shop is also good, but the demand for Gulab Jamun is the highest. Around 1 thousand pieces are sold every day. Price is Rs 13 per piece.
