Police have arrested three including a doctor of a private hospital and sent them to judicial custody in Sitamarhi, Bihar, from Indo-Nepal’s Sonbarsa border in the liquor case. Questions are also being raised on the role of the police in this matter. It is reported that the police was trying to save one of the three accused. However, the defending police officers and personnel are under the supervision of the station head cum trainee DSP. The doctor in whose defense the local police has played a paper game, it is difficult for him to survive. Along with this, action is also being taken against the police personnel who did the rescue.
According to information, on Saturday night, under-inspectors Rajashekhar and Praveen Kumar went out on patrol with the police force. Meanwhile, on the basis of secret information, the police caught three people with two bottles of English liquor from a car parked at Chandni Chowk coming from Sonbarsa market. While there, the car was seized. Police found all three in an inebriated condition during investigation.
Among the three arrested, Sajan Kumar, son of Sudama Mahto of Sahiyara police station area, Afzal Hussain, son of Parsauni resident of Parsauni police station area, Mohd. Mustaq Alam and Dr. Anil Kumar, son of Sonelal, resident of Kanta Chowk of Mehsaul OP area. After catching all three, the police got involved in the defense of the accused doctor Anil Kumar. All three were arrested from the same car, but during the paperwork, the police showed the arrest of two of the accused with two bottles and the doctor was only accused of being drunk.
Experts say that in order to protect the doctor, the police have accused him only of drinking alcohol instead of arresting him with alcohol. This has also been confirmed by SHO cum trainee DSP Suchitra Kumari. He told that such an incident has happened. It has been told that the guilty police officers will not be spared under any circumstances. Significantly, Dr. Anil Kumar has a hospital named Jeevan Jyoti at Sonbarsa bus stand. He is one of the renowned doctors in this field.
