Ashwin likely to replace Axar Patel in World Cup 2023: Even before the start of ODI World Cup 2023, the madness of cricket fans is being seen regarding this mega event. The Indian team also reached Guwahati on 28 September after the end of the ODI series against Australia. Ravichandran Ashwin was also seen here with the team, who is not officially a part of the team yet. Meanwhile, it is expected that Ashwin can be included in place of Akshar Patel in India’s team announced for the ODI World Cup.
The Indian team has to play its first match in the ODI World 2023 against the Australian team on October 8 at the Chennai ground. Before that, Team India will also play 2 practice matches. One of these will be played against England on 30th September at Guwahati ground. According to the news of ESPN Cricinfo, Ashwin can be made a part of the team in place of Axar Patel.
All the teams have the chance till tonight to make changes in the official team announced for the World Cup. After this, they will be given a chance to make changes only after the approval of the Technical Committee. Ashwin got a chance to play in the first 2 matches of the 3-match ODI series that ended against Australia. In this, he could not do anything special in the first match whereas in the second match, Ashwin was definitely successful in impressing everyone with his bowling.

Ashwin was a part of the 2011 World Cup winning team.
In 2011, when the Indian team won the ODI World Cup under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ashwin was a part of Team India at that time. Although he got a chance to play in only 2 matches, but this also included the important quarter-final match against Australia. Ashwin had taken 2 wickets while conceding 52 runs in that match.
