Rajkumar Hirani On Vicky Kauhal: Made under the direction of Rajkumar Hirani and Shahrukh Khan The starrer film ‘Dinky’ is earning well at the box office. The film was released in theaters on 21 December and is earning crores of rupees every day since its release. Amidst the spectacular collection of ‘Dinky’, the film’s director Rajkumar Hirani talked about the film and its star cast. He revealed how he did not want to cast Vicky Kaushal for ‘Dinky’.
Rajkumar Hirani, while talking to NDTV recently, revealed that he wanted to cast new people for all the side characters in the film. He told that he had talked about this while talking to Sham Kaushal, the stunt director of ‘Dinky’ and Vicky’s father. Hirani said, ‘When we were talking, the topic of casting came up. When Sham asked about the ideal boy for the role of Sukhi, I said that a boy like Vicky would be perfect.
Vicky Kaushal called and complained
Hirani further said- ‘I had made it clear that I will not give this character to Vicky because it is a small role. Now he is playing lead characters, so I will not offer it to him and Shaam did not say anything. The ‘Dinky’ director further says that the same night he got a call from Vicky Kaushal who complained to Hirani. Vicky said- ‘How can you tell papa that you cannot give me a role?’
‘Because of Vicky, there is a lot in the film…’
Rajkumar Hirani told that after this Vicky met him the next day. He talked about doing this role which also showed what a good actor can do with such a role. Hirani said- ‘Because of Vicky, there was a big difference in the film.’
